Established in January 2005 and funded by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, the Northrop Grumman Center (NGC) for High Performance Computing of Ship Systems Engineering at Jackson State University (JSU) pioneers research and technology developments in computational engineering. NGC also serves as a high performance computing technology center for the school of engineering at JSU.
Located in a modern 17 acre complex, the 300,000 square foot NGC e-Center develops and applies state-of-the-art high performance computing tools and technologies for design and evaluation of next generation Navy ships. ┬áIn addition, NGC studies the dispersion of contaminants in urban and battle fields, develops simulation technologies to study the aerodynamics characteristics of future combat systems in Army’s modernization program and most importantly, provides research and educational training for JSU students.
