SGA President Jacori Daniels Welcome Letter

Greetings Class of 2022 and 2024,

I am Jacori Daniels, a senior biology pre-medicine student hailing from Hazlehurst, MS, and I have the pleasure of serving as the 75th Student Government Association President for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Oh, what a time to be alive! Welcome, Class of 2022 and 2024, to Thee I Love, Jackson State University, home of the Summa Cum Laude of bands “ The Sonic Boom of the South, 5 NFL Hall of Famers, and let’s not forget about Thomas “Snacks” Lee claiming the first Espy in JSU history.

Times may be hard as you venture out into a new journey during these challenging times, but what better place to come than JSU, where we “Challenge Minds and Change Lives,” one step at a time. You can be reassured that your health and safety will be a focal point while obtaining a great education. I can remember entering this campus during the summer of 2017 as a young, naive boy thinking that I knew everything. College has opened my eyes and taught me valuable lessons along this journey to get to the young, intelligent leader that I am today.

Understand that your journey will not be “peaches and cream,” but it will be one that makes you into that next doctor, lawyer, principal, or whatever your heart desires. When times get hard, do not give up, but rather remember your purpose. Over the next four years, you will meet people that will become lifelong friends. Make the most of your college experience and have fun, but remember to do it in a respectful way because you never
know who is watching. Looking back, I am thankful for all the experiences, for I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. I thank God for allowing me to serve as your president and I look forward to meeting and seeing you all excel in the near future.

Humbly yours,
Jacori Daniels
75th Student Government Association President
