A well-known and watched Youtuber with over 209 million subscribers and averaging over 50 million views a video has made a humble decision in giving back.

Mostly known for his fun games/challenges type videos with friends and sometimes strangers he meets, he is always seemingly putting a good smile or laugh on the audience’s face. But his latest video to date went viral, catching the attention of the world as it spread like wildfire all over social media and news outlets.

On Nov. 4, a video called “I Built 100 Wells in Africa” follows Mr. Beast and his friends as they go on a journey to different countries in Africa building wells that produce an unlimited clean drinking water supply for the respected communities. Within the first couple of seconds of the YouTube video you get a glimpse of one of the wells shooting out fresh, clean water.

Starting in a small village in Kenya, Mr. Beast and his team build a couple wells for that specific community before heading over to Nairir. Upon his arrival at one of the Nairir school systems, he is greeted with a welcoming celebration ceremony celebrating his coming. After doing a brief walk through of the school and discovering their water source came from a river that has not been sanitary for years.

After completing his mission in both Kenya and Nairiri, he was able to provide 30 out of 100 wells just for those two countries alone but that did not stop him from going to 12 surrounding villages and building wells for them putting his well count at 44.

One of the villages needed updated school equipment for their school so Mr. Beast and his team were able to provide new furniture, books and bookshelves, computers, and monitors, and even soccer balls for that school. Mr. Beast left that village and school with a gracious heart as he provided more than enough.

Next stop on the well tour was at a community named Toroplongon making them his 45 well. While being in there Mr. Beast learned of the hardships they face as their only water source is miles away in the jungle. But thanks to Mr. Beast and his team now the newly built well is only 10 ft. away from that village.

While continuing his tour to another country in Africa they made a pit stop to a village that needed a new bridge to help them cross over to their schools and hospital, so the team decided to build a whole new bridge on top of the seven new wells for that village.

By this time Mr. Beast and his team have been in Africa for a week now and have created 52 brand new wells making their next stop in Zimbabwe. After a pit stop at a local hospital and school and providing wells and new bikes for the kids, Mr. Beast and his team continued servicing other villages in Zimbabwe with more wells until the reach well number 69. Now what made well number 69 unique is that it was the first well to be solar powered specifically for there to be enough water for the farmers, cattle, and crops even through the seasons without any electricity needed. After leaving Zimbabwe they made a couple more stops to build more wells in Uganda, Somalia, and lastly in Cameroon reaching their 100 well goal and ultimately bring the tour to an end.

By using a drill going at least 100 feet into the ground to reach the drinkable water which is then put into these purifying barrels which get stored in a water tower. But also, pipes aka spigots are used so that many others around each village may get access to the water. He did not do it alone; he had an entire team and the local villages backing him helping any way they could. With all the 100 wells combined, Mr. Beast was able to provide a pure water source for over 500,000 people in Africa including the local villages, hospitals, and schools. Mr. Beast reasons for doing all of this, simply because he can and believes that it is our job as humanity to do something if it can be done.

Mr. Beast concludes the video with end quotes “I know it’s weird that a YouTuber has to do this stuff, someone’s gotta do it. And if no one else is, we’re going to do it.”
