For years, Boston Fish Supreme has been a huge part of the Jackson State University experience.
Anyone who attends the school knows how popular Boston’s food is to the students of Jackson state, but recent rumors of a failing Servsafe grade have many students talking about the popular eatery.
First things first, Boston’s does not have a failing grade in its food service operations. This rumor is just that, a rumor. The establishment currently rates a B.
To be clear, if the establishment had received an F, they would be closed.
After an investigation by the Flash, it has been found that the rumor is entirely untrue. After speaking to the manager about the issue, he seemed to be in complete disbelief and extremely upset that someone would put the integrity of the restaurant on the line.
He explained that even though the size and the overall appearance may not be extravagant, the restaurant is up to safety and health standards. The owner also states that the restaurant is trying to expand to better accommodate their customers and better the business.
Along with his explanation, came documentation and proof that showed that the restaurant had received a B from the health department, not an F, which is actually impossible to get. The lowest a restaurant can receive is a C before it is on the verge of being shut down.
Be that as it may, upon further research it can be found on the health department site that as of Oct. 20, 2014, the last documented day of an inspection, Boston’s received an A. This is great news for the community and the business.
It is great to be able to clarify and let others know that Boston’s still deserves their business. Now that the facts have been provided, there should no longer be any doubts about the safety of this establishment.
As stated in an earlier review of Boston’s by The Flash in September, the food really speaks for itself. As the name says, Boston Fish Supreme is a great place to go for good fish but many at JSU go for the wings. It is by far the best thing on the menu and is really what the place is known for.
The sauces they have for the wings are amazing, my favorite being the sweet & mild sauce. It is always recommended that when ordering fries to ask for “sauce on fries”, meaning adding heaps of wing sauce to the fries for added flavor.
Going to Boston’s is really an experience in itself. The building provides little room for sitting, but the food is good and keeps people coming back for more. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about trying it out. The food will not disappoint!
