Vicksburg Miss. natives, FlyGang Music group, have released a mixtape.

Although T. Montana has been rapping since he was very young, the actual entertainment group started in high school. The group is infamous in the city of Vicksburg, hosting some of the hottest parties and performing at different shows. Their main DJ, DJ KGTheKid, has also been working with them since the group first jumped off. Upon graduating, several of the young men brought their talents to the campus of Jackson State University.

T. Montana’s manager, Jeremy Meekins, a junior criminal justice major, has been officially networking, meeting other artists, and setting up gigs for T. Montana for over a year.

Meekins said, “The most difficult part about my job as his manager is to actually get the music to be listened to. Most DJs who have never heard his music are scared to take a risk and play it.”

The artist also comes with very loyal Co-CEO’s that also attend Jackson State.

Bobby Clark a sophomore criminal justice major plans to change his major to music to help him understand all of the ends and outs of the music business, as well as Stefon Demby, a sophomore computer technology major.

Demby said, “We are continuously inspiring people to not only listen to the mixtape but to also download it as well.”

Two other important figures in the group, Antonio Williams and Evan Brown are both sophomores at JSU.

The mixtape is entitled Fly Documentary; hosted by DJ Dream. T. Montana and his very supportive fans accumulated 1,928 listens and 85 downloads within its first two days of being released.

Shirleyas Chambers, a senior biology premed major from Juliet, Ill., said, “T. Montana is very talented. I actually like the mix tape. I’ve been listening to it since the release date and there are a few songs that I have fallen in love with. If the students at JSU listen I know they would love it.”
I downloaded the mixtape and I like it. It is not the typical local music people are tired of hearing. You can tell that Montana puts a lot of effort into his work. Each track has a different vibe and the mix tape as a whole flows so well together.

Montana said, “I listen to all types of music that inspires me to write. I put a lot of dedication into my music. But without the support from fans and God I’d be nothing. I appreciate all the support we get.”

Although T. Montana does not have any upcoming shows, he is gladly accepting any offers proposed to him. The entertainers goals for the near feature are to remain humble, keep God first, and to all become successful to show people that with a little hard work and dedication anyone can make it.
