Surprise ending makes ‘Dream House’ a good movie

Mystery and suspense are always good in the movies. It keeps the audience wanting more and trying to figure out what’s to come. Dream House is a movie that does just that.

Dream House opened in theaters on September 30th and was No. 6 at the Box Office. Dream House has made 18.4 million dollars since its release according to rottentomatoes.com.

Jim Sheridan, director of Dream House and other films such as Get Rich or Die Tryin, Brothers, and other films, teamed up with some  “A” list stars in this film. Daniel Craig stars in the movie with Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts.

Craig is known for his roles in Royale Casino (James Bond), Quantum of Solace, layer cake, and plenty of other roles. Weisz is known for her Oscar winning performance in The Constant Gardener and many other roles. Watts is known for her roles in King Kong, The ring, and Children of the Corn, and a lot of other roles.

Dream House begins with Will Atenton (Craig) quitting his job in New York City to move his family to a suburban neighborhood. Soon after the family moves into their new home they learn that a mother and her two daughters were murdered in the house and the only survivor, the father, was who the whole town suspected of committing the horrendous crime.

After weird events start to occur at the home Atenton and his wife Libby (Weisz), start to investigate the murders and they receive their only information from Ann Patterson (Watts), a neighbor who was really close to the family.

Together they piece the story together and find out the disturbing truth. I can’t say too much about the movie because I don’t want to give it away.
This movie has a great twist but some might say that it has been done before. I would recommend this movie to everyone. It’s not a scary movie and it may seem long and droned out but the ending  will surprise you.
