The JSU Tigers Leave the den to pursue a win at UAPB

Jackson State University’s football team is scheduled to face University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff in their home of Pine-Bluff Ark.. UAPB is coming into the game with a 3-2 record including two wins in their last three games.

UAPB is entering Saturday’s game after being ran off the field 13-40 against Tennesee State University. JSU will be stepping on the field competing to becoming .500 with a current 2-3 record. The Tigers of JSU look to repeat the efforts of last game as they pounced on Prarie View 34-13.

During this matchup there are a couple players to consider putting a spotlight on from each team. For JSU’s offense Tommy Gooden, a junior RB from Atlanta, GA., is the man to keep an eye on. On 18 rushes Gooden gained 138 yards obtaining an average of 7.5 yards per carry.

On the opposite side of the ball stay focused on No.5 Cameron Loeffler, a junior DB from Exeter, Calif., he made a total of 9 tackles in the last game including a sack.

For the Golden Lions of UAPB, a name you may hear a lot of, is Ladarius Eckwood. Eckwood had 5 receptions for a total of 117 yards including a touchdown.

Defensively, Bill Ross has been a model of consistency with 51 total tackles on the season.

This conference game should have much excitement and bragging rights to show who is the mighty cat of the jungle.
