JSU Student Short Film, IF, debuts

Jackson State University’s Department of Mass Communication in conjunction with Legacy Media Institute (LMI) will host a viewing of a short film on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the JSU Campus Theater.

“If” is the title of the short film. The film explores the belief that if one can control one’s emotions one can alter the outcome in every situation. JSU student actors Aspen Wilson, Mass Communication major, DeSharipkins and Jamarion Wright, Thearter majors are the stars of the film.

Acclaimed actor, director and producer Tim Reid conducted the two-week master class on the Jackson State University campus. Ten students from the Department of Mass Communication were chosen as fellows for the 2015 Master Filmmaking Class.

Johnnie Simmons, A.S.C. and Robert Gava,  lightning expert, taught classes during the week.

Reid will announce the two students selected from the class to travel with him to London, England on June 6, 2015 to participate in an international filmmaking class.

The short film viewing is free and open to the public.
