A comedic music video featuring rapper Snoop Dogg and a clown depicting President Donald Trump named Ronald Klump is the latest pop culture drawing to catch heat through social media from President Trump.

On Wednesday, March 15, President Trump took to Twitter, turning his trigger fingers into Twitter fingers to make a response, even saying that Snoop Dogg should face possible jail time.

In the tweet Trump said, “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”

In the video, Snoop Dogg points a toy pistol toward the Klump character. When the rapper pulls the trigger, a sign that says “bang” drops from the barrel in the style of classic prank guns; Klump is later shown in chains.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the first to poke fun at the president and he won’t be the last.

“Saturday Night Live” has also poked fun at the president multiple times and has received plenty of backlashes from Trump himself.

Critics have noted that President Trump often picks entertainment-world battles as political controversies.

Many Jackson State University students saw the Twitter response and believe its not befitting of a president.

A’Shan Martin, a sophomore social work major from Jackson, Miss. said, “I’m so tired of Donald Trump and his social media, want to be thug tweets. If you get upset over what someone says about you or if they make fun of you, being the President of the United States is not the job for you.”

Other rappers have also taken to social media to defend Snoop Dogg and his video.

Rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris responded in an Instagram post saying, “F***ing Tangerine Tanned Muskrat scrotum skin, Lacefront Possum fur Wig wearing, Alternative fact, Atomic Dog diarrhea face a** man,” while defending Snoop Dogg’s status as a rap legend.

Rapper Bowwow, who was mentored by Snoop Dogg, also took to social media and said, “Ayo @realDonaldTrump shut your punk a** up talking sh** about my uncle @SnoopDogg before we pimp your wife and make her work for us.”

Comedian Steve Harvey threw his two cents into the mix today during a recent episode of his morning radio show and came out on the side of the president.

Steve Harvey said, “I love Snoop. Bow Wow, always respectful and cordial with one another, me and T.I., I don’t have no problem with T.I. I love the dude. I’m just saying brothers be smart. You gotta be smart man … All y’all talking got money. You got money, man. You got money and they know how to go after that money. Just be smart, let me tell ya man, leave the first lady out of this. Y’all going down another path with these cats now. You start messing with they wives … I’ll tell y’all you going down another path.”

Snoop Dogg has yet to respond to the President’s Twitter rants or apologized for his video.
