The mission of the College of Education and Human Development is to employ teaching,\u00a0research and service within an urban learning community, and to the preparation of practitioners\u00a0from diverse backgrounds for outstanding professional service through the development of\u00a0solutions to potential or existing challenges facing Urban institutions.<\/p>\n

The vision of the College of Education and Human Development is to be the premier Urban\u00a0institution of choice within the state of Mississippi, the region, and the nation for the preparation\u00a0of teachers, counselors and mental health professionals, professional development specialists,\u00a0school leaders, and other school related professional practitioners with the latest in technology,\u00a0best practices and as responsive educators with adaptive expertise.<\/p>\n
