The College of Health Sciences encompasses: the Public Health Program at Jackson State University which aims to provide quality education and leadership in community-based research and practice; the Communicative Disorders Program which offers two degrees and a post baccalaureate curriculum; the Epidemiology and Biostatistics program which aims to understand the risk factors of diseases and in particular those effecting racial and ethnic minority through research, training, education, and community engagement to improve the health of the public; the Health Policy and Management\u00a0 which exposes students to a curriculum designed to impact knowledge of contemporary public health administration and management as well as provide analytical skills for designing, developing, implementing and evaluating public health policies and interventions, including financial and human resource management, comprehensive policy and program planning, analysis, evaluation, development, and implementation and the Social Work program which provides educational opportunities for a diverse group of students to earn degrees at the baccalaureate, master\u2019s, and doctoral levels. Students learn the knowledge, skills, values, and ethics of the profession of social work in a supportive academic environment.<\/p>\n
