As long as humans have been on the face of this planet, voting has been at the forefront of important decisions, from voting for a line leader to voting for the impeachment of a corrupt leader. Voting helps make decisions like the ones stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people believe voting to be unimportant based on specific criteria. They also feel that voting may be insignificant because they see no change or they feel the wrong people are in those places of power.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting is an empowering act that enacts change in a nation, community, or small group. Voting is not limited to just politics. It can be used for miscellaneous tasks that may be considered minuscule.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the United States of America, voting is one of the best things that we can do as citizens. If we don\u2019t like something, then the ball is in our court.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, we are slightly limited when it comes to voting on the president due to the Electoral College. This doesn’t mean that we can\u2019t vote on lower levels of government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people are uneducated when it comes to the power of voting, so voter education is important before voting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting is important for a myriad of reasons. Voting can be what either sets a nation apart or helps make positive changes that progress the nation for the greater good.<\/span><\/p>\n

One reason why voting is important is that it helps invoke change. One example of change would be Franklin D. Roosevelt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roosevelt was the only president to ever serve 4-terms as president. During his time in office from 1933 to 1945, Roosevelt was able to declare a bill that would end the Great Depression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting was able to put the right people in Congress to put Roosevelt in office so that the New Deal could provide programs for the many citizens suffering. This would change the United States forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another reason why voting is important is because it could affect the way people live positively or negatively. There may be bills passed that may possibly be detrimental to your everyday life.<\/span><\/p>\n

An example of this would be the rejection of help from a neighboring city for their water problems. Voting can remove the person in power who declined this help.<\/span><\/p>\n

After that person is gone, the citizens of said city can go vote and put the proper person in place who can positively affect the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Governors, senators, and other high-ranking officials are other positions that give the citizens the choice in who they want to lead. These people are important because they control decisions on the state level.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves put a ban on state-issued devices using TikTok. There are other major problems going on with Mississippi and TikTok is on the top of his list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another example of a governor who is making questionable decisions is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Every other week there is a bill that targets the LGBTQIA+ community. Again, there are other things to worry about in the state of Florida but this is what he is worried about.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is another reason why voting is important because you have people in office who aren’t for the people, instead they represent a minority of people who spew heinous rhetoric.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting has the power to put people in positions of power who care about the people and not themselves or money. Voting has the power to uplift the population to do better.<\/span><\/p>\n

As citizens, we have to be the change instead of wishing and hoping for the change. On Nov. 7, elections in Mississippi and other states will take place. This is your time to go out and be a part of the change. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
