On Oct. 31st, the horror begins . . . Halloween Horror, that is! Earlier in the month, kids begin thinking about what character they wanted to be (a princess or a super hero) and parents begin their search for the best costumes for their kids that will give them bragging rights within their social circles. Families chart out the best neighborhoods for Trick or Treating and many residents try to out-do each other with the best decorations as well as try to be known as the house that gives the best candy! <\/p>\n

Halloween, though, is not just for the kids. It is a highly anticipated day for adults as well. Around mid-September, movie studios begin advertising their horror movies of the year in hopes of peaking the interest of die-hard horror movie fans around the world. <\/p>\n

Many can\u2019t wait to see their old favorite horror movies that are sure to be played again during this time.<\/p>\n

Kristen Martin, a freshman accounting major from Lutcher, La. looks forward to watching \u201cDrag Me To Hell\u201d during this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very realistic. It plays on real human emotions and the things people are really afraid of such as religion,\u201d Martin.<\/p>\n

According to Benjamin Quinn, a freshman accounting major from Jackson, Miss. said \u201cInsidious\u201d is his all-time favorite horror movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is based on a true story and stuff that can really happen. And when people mention there are ghosts in our dorm, it makes me think of what things can happen after watching the movie,\u201d said Quinn.<\/p>\n

Robria Daniels, a junior English Journalism major from Jackson, Miss. thinks \u201cParanormal Activity\u201d is the scariest movie she has ever watched. <\/p>\n

\u201cWatching this particular movie scared me and scarred me for 6 months because knowing that these are real life situations that can happen. I don\u2019t watch scary movies and haven\u2019t watched one since that movie,\u201d said Daniels.<\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s \u201cThe Exorcist\u201d or \u201cInsidious,\u201d and no matter how many times you see them, they make you hide underneath a blanket or scream out in terror! So, this Halloween, grab a big bowl of popcorn, a tall glass of your favorite beverage, turn the lights out and let the terror begin!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
