Kachelle Pratcher<\/strong> The Chicago and Company dance group is known as one of the most energetic, sensational, heart throbbing dance groups on Jackson State University\u2019s campus right now.<\/p>\n Bringing their Chicago flavor to the South and introducing new dance moves to all,\u00a0 C&C was established on March 27, 2011 and has in many showcases and talent shows on campus.<\/p>\n \u201cMy goal is to start a legacy at Jackson State for students from all different places to share their dance style with our peers on campus,\u201d said team captain Darwin Stewart, a junior business administration major.<\/p>\n Jovonne Brooks, co-captain and senior mass communications major added \u201cour mission for the group is to share our style and creativity and to show that Chicago is not just a place that produces criminals .\u00a0 We actually have talent and are heading in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n Chicago and Company won 1st place at the Sigma Gamma Rho talent show in the Spring 2011 semester in their first performance as a group. The also won 2nd place in both the 2011 spring and fall AKApollo shows.<\/p>\n C&C members shared why they joined the group.<\/p>\n \u201cI love my dance group. We work hard to put on great shows and entertain our audience and supporters. Throw your C\u2019s up,\u201d said head dance choreographer Kyle Davis, a sophomore mass communications major.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nothing more I like to do than to represent my city, and being on C&C gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that,\u201d said sophomore biology major Patrick Brumfield.<\/p>\n Joy Bailey, a sophomore elementary education major said, \u201cBeing in Chicago and Company makes me feel like I\u2019m back at home, I\u2019ve come to love the members of C&C my own little family away from home.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am apart of Chicago and Chicago because it gives me something positive to do and I love putting a smile on people faces,\u201d said freshman business administration major Yazmine Brown.<\/p>\n Jazmin Anderson, a freshman theater arets major said, \u201cMy reasons for dancing with C&C is because I love dancing and it helps me express myself also showing how we dance and where we come from.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cA mind is a terrible thing to waste and I joined the group for the family vibe, I am a people person,\u201d said sophomore mass communication major Nikyta Wilkins.<\/p>\n Chanquilla Quinn, a sophomore criminal justice major said, \u201cI\u2019m a member of C&C because I love to dance, I have many flaws but I take most of them and create a unique style of my own. I also love my teammates because they accept me as I am and we\u2019ve created a bond, like a big family.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI joined C&C because I love to dance. Being in this dance group teaches me a lot about friendship and being a family. It\u2019s always good to learn new things, I\u2019m glad I joined the team,\u201d said Brandi Cheatham, a sophomore healthcare administration major.<\/p>\n Chicago and Company perform off campus as well and have\u00a0 performed in a Drill Team Competition at Hardy Middle School, and have many different venues reaching out to them.<\/p>\n The majority of all members are from Chicago except for a few.
