Anna Baynham<\/strong> Tyra Suggs, a junior criminal justice pre-law major from East St.Lous, Ill. and Jackson State Universtiy student will reign as the 2011 Miss Capital City Classic.<\/p>\n Alyshia Alexander, a senior from Alcorn was first runner-up and\u00a0 Amber Jones, a sophomore from ASU was second runner-up.<\/p>\n The pageant was held on Nov. 11, 2011 at the historic Alamo Theater in downtown Jackson, and included two students from Alcorn State University and four students from JSU.<\/p>\n \u201cThe pageant was a good experience. I had a lot of tough competition,\u201d said Suggs. \u201cThe girls really worked hard for the pageant. I was really excited about the outcome. I am honored to be picked to present JSU and Alcorn as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Participants in the pageant went through an application process, interview with the judges and a swimsuit, talent, and formal question\/answer segments during the competition.<\/p>\n Lori Stewart, who has been helping direct the pageant for two years now,\u00a0 said, \u201cThe purpose of the pageant\u00a0 is to show the beauty, talents, and grace each campus has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n The pageant was hosted by Miss JSU and Miss ASU and their royal courts.
