If family comedy and drama is your addiction, you should definitely consider seeing \u201cAlmost Christmas,\u201d which was released in theatres Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.<\/p>\n

This two hour holiday comedy was directed and written by David E. Talbert. The production company, Will Packer Productions, is known for producing great movies such as \u201cThink Like a Man Too\u201d and \u201cThe Wedding Ringer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny Glover stars as Walter Meyer, a retired mechanic who happened to lose his wife one year earlier. With the holidays coming around soon, he plans to invite his four children for a Christmas celebration they will never forget.<\/p>\n

This would be their first gathering as a family since their mother died, and they made it clear that the holidays would never be the same again. Still going through grief, the family struggles to get along with each other causing many problems during the holiday season.<\/p>\n

Sophomore Calvin Anderson, a business major from Clinton, Miss., went to see the film and related well because he experienced a similar holiday season just like in the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving Christmas as a family last year was not the same mainly because we were missing a huge piece of our puzzle that made our family complete,\u201d said Anderson.<\/p>\n

The main character, Walter Meyer, hopes for a successful holiday celebration with his family but instead gets the complete opposite because of how dysfunctional they are together.<\/p>\n

According to Imdb, \u201cAlmost Christmas\u201d grossed a solid $15.6 million in ticket sales in its first weekend. A comedic drama with a predominantly black cast, \u201cAlmost Christmas\u201d cost about $17 million to make.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlmost Christmas\u201d has more than just Glover to bring in the huge crowds to the theatre. Other cast members include Gabrielle Union, Kimberly Elise, Mo\u2019Nique, Omar Epps, and many others that helped make this film a fun filled comedy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
