<\/a>Diamond Jenkins<\/strong> Jackson State University students now have the option of parking and riding JATRAN, Jackson, and Mississippi\u2019s public bus transportation system for the remainder of 2012, free of charge.<\/p>\n Currently enrolled JSU students can visit the JSU Office of Student Life in the Student Center on campus to get a special JSU sticker to place on their student I.D. card to present to JATRAN drivers when boarding the bus.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel that this means transportation is convenient for JSU students and I love how there are many advancements being made around campus, for campus,\u201d said Derrion Jones, a sophomore criminal justice major from Memphis, Tenn.<\/p>\n Partnering with the City of Jackson, JSU hopes the Tiger Park-and-Ride Initiative will aide in increasing the mobility of its students while also providing economic assistance.<\/p>\n Many students are excited about this new convenience for Jackson State students.<\/p>\n Adrienne Coins, a senior business management major from Jackson, Miss. said, \u201cI am a commuter student and sometimes it\u2019s hard to drive my car all the way to school just for one class. So, it would be nice to ride the JATRAN.\u201d<\/p>\n Alex Pollard, a junior integrated marketing major from Richmond, Va. said, \u201cGas is at an all time high right now and I feel as though this will save me hundreds of dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis initiative is the latest measure the university is taking to help protect the environment while adding measurable benefits for JSU students,\u201d said JSU Marketing Manager Pamela Berry-Johnson in a press release.<\/p>\n Jackson State has four campuses; JSU\u2019s main campus located on J.R.
