“They say that if you plan to go to law school, you should major in anything but law. I was wondering what else that I could major in that would help me, so I researched the majors for lawyers and decided to choose economics. I’ve learned that it’s so important to know economics because it’s about everyday life. It shows you how money works, how money flows through a neighborhood, and why people make the decisions that they make. I needed a major that I could use outside of the classroom, and I feel that in every economics class.
I’m from the South Side of Chicago, and I’m really obsessed with the African American community. After law school, I want to go back to Chicago and start my law career there. Right now, I’m thinking about going into corporate law. A lot of people don’t read contracts or understand them. And, a lot of major corporations, hospitals and banks take advantage of people, especially in lower income communities. That’s something that I’m passionate about. So, I’m going to help my community through my law practice.”
