To think.
To create.
To be.

It almost sounds as if I am talking about science or evolution and I am, but not quite how you may think.

This is the brainchild of Jackson State University golfer Cammrynn Stith. The 21-year-old, junior mass communications major from Wichita, Kan. is attending JSU on a golf scholarship. Stith aspires to become a movie producer, but until then she is enjoying customizing her unique brand of snapback hats.

The idea for this line of empowering women’s apparel stemmed from an assignment in her entrepreneurship class. Stith has always had a love for hats so she jumped at the opportunity to customize her own brand of head gear for women, but she did not stop there. She thought a t-shirt would be the perfect compliment to the hats. She enjoyed the design process so much that she would like to expand the line to include more apparel and accessories.

“vis.YOU.lize is not just a brand, it’s a movement in which we have no boundaries, a woman’s line that encompasses the beauty of fashion, culture, art, music and life,” said Stith.

She has a creative streak, so it is no surprise her apparel is just as bright, colorful and eclectic as her outfits full of blazers, button downs, rolled chinos and oxfords. Stith has a unique style and she wanted to infuse that into her apparel line.

“Cammrynn’s range of influence comes from a variety of different sources which makes for her well-rounded personality,” said V.Y.Z. partner Chaska Clemons.

Clemons, a communications major at the University of Kansas speaks highly of her comrade.

“Her mind is open to all possibilities allowing for her vision for visYOUlize to be very ambiguous. She supports anyone that has passion that matches or exceeds hers and that sets the V.Y.Z team up for nothing but success!”

The head gear comes in a variety of colors with V.Y.Z in the front and the logo name vis.YOU.lize in the back. The hats are adjustable to fit each individual head. The t-shirts are colorful and fun bearing a single pink heart with “visyouize” whimsically written in the middle.
The aspiring director says she likes to make style out of almost anything. “I love thrift stores. People look over the treasures in there”. She holds up a denim vest and proceeds to run the scissors across the front to mimic a distressed look. The vests new look is complete with vintage buttons adorned on the pockets. “I got these off EBay, ” Stith said laughing.

Stith says you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look nice because it is all about how you wear the clothing not the money you paid for it. She is about empowering women from the inside out and she thinks the best accessory to wear with any outfit is a smile.

This multi-faceted student does not only have an eye for fashion, but for photography and media production as well.

“I definitely see Cam being a great cinematographer in the future. She has an eye for some creative shots,” said Lanis Leggett, 30, mass communications major at Jackson State from Quitman, Miss.

Diversification is the name of the game for this college student. Stith’s eye for fashion, her ability to think beyond the scope of limitation and execute new ideas as well as her passion for media production will surely aid in building a brand as diverse as she is.

vis.YOU.lize’s motto  is “A woman’s brand to embrace the individual in YOU by thinking, creating, and being”. Can you vis.YOU.lize?
