As 2023 ends, Drake and J Cole announced their It’s All A Blur Tour – BIG AS THE WHAT? There will be 18 tour dates starting in January.
Drake is among the music industry’s most influential and commercially successful performers and has had a huge influence on the pop and hip-hop music sectors. He has routinely topped charts with his albums and hits.
He also owns several Billboard and multiple Grammy Awards. Drake’s enormous success has been largely attributed to his ability to seamlessly merge several musical genres and his continuous production of chart-topping hits.
J. Cole is a very well-known and prosperous songwriter, record producer, and rapper. His producing prowess, storytelling prowess, and intelligent lyrics have won him widespread attention and praise.
J. Cole enjoys a devoted following and has had multiple chart-topping records lead to his success in the music industry. He has had a significant influence on the hip-hop genre and is well-known for his socially conscious lyrics and genuineness. J. Cole also founded Dreamville Records, a record company that has signed other gifted musicians. In addition, he has participated in charitable and neighborhood projects.
With the two joining forces, fans are excited to see them live.
Drake recently dropped a new album, “For All The Dogs’’ with 23 songs. On Nov. 17, 2023, he released five more songs to the same album.
J. Cole has not dropped an album since 2021, but he is known for his best hits, “KOD”, “4 Your Eyez Only”, and “Cole World”.
Students at Jackson State University gave their opinion on Drake and J. Cole going on tour together and what songs they would personally want to see live.
Amiyah Banks, a sophomore criminal justice major from Lancaster, Calif., said, “I think it’s cool they’re going on tour. Personally, I would love to see J. Cole perform “No Role Modelz” live.
Angelique Farmer, a sophomore healthcare administration major from Lansing, Ill., believes that the two rappers sharing a stage would be legendary.
“I feel like having J. Cole and Drake on tour together is like having two legends come together. They are both my favorite artists so this tour is a dream come true and something I don’t want to miss and I would love for them to perform First person shooter from Drake’s new album,” said Farmer.
Mckenzie Johnson is also looking forward to the song selections.
“I don’t know how I really feel about them going on tour but songs I would like to hear Drake perform live is ‘Know Yourself’ and ‘Back Outside Boys’. Songs I would like to hear J. Cole perform are ‘Work Out’ and ‘KOD,’” said Johnson, a sophomore social work major from Milwaukee, Wisc.
J. Cole and Drake enjoy a cordial working relationship in the music business. There has not been any reported disputes between them, and they have both professed admiration for one another’s work. In fact, in a number of interviews, both artists have expressed how much they admire one another.
They have previously worked together on music as well. Drake, for instance, paid tribute to J. Cole by featuring on his mixtape the song “Jodeci Freestyle.” J. Cole had an appearance on Drake’s song “In the Morning” from the “Thank Me Later” album.
J. Cole and Drake are well-known for their poetic skills. They are talented songwriters, and many of their songs touch on social justice, personal experiences, and other pertinent subjects. Their reputations as perceptive and intelligent artists have been enhanced by this.
Drake is expected to begin the tour in mid-January and continue traveling until the end of March. As the tour dates are coming up, fans are getting more and more excited to see the both perform live.
