This\u00a0is really, really kind. I&#8217;m so grateful. This doesn&#8217;t happen to people like me very often.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Styles went up against powerhouse artists like <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyonc\u00e9, Lizzo, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar and more to claim this top award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyonc\u00e9 won four awards, becoming the winningest Grammy artist of all time. Her awards included: Best Dance Recording for \u201cBreak My Soul\u201d, Best Dance\/Electronica Album for \u201cRenaissance\u201d, Best Traditional R&amp;B Vocal Performance for \u201cPlastic Off the Sofa\u201d and Best R&amp;B Song for \u201cCuff It\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kennedy Harrison, a senior political science major from Dallas, Texas believes the top award should have gone to Queen Bey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I feel like Beyonce got snubbed for the Album of the Year Grammy. This is typical of the Grammys because they never recognize black artists properly,\u201d said Harrison. \u201cRegardless of the snub, Beyonc\u00e9 is the greatest artist of all time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joel Murchison, a junior music education from Atlanta, Ga., believes Styles deserved the Grammy for Album of the Year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEverybody is talking about how Beyonc\u00e9 lost to Harry Styles. Honestly, he deserved it.\u00a0This wasn&#8217;t even Beyonc\u00e9s best album. If anything it should&#8217;ve been Bad Bunny (who won).\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9 losing with \u201cLemonade\u201d was crazy but that&#8217;s the past and this is now. She did not have the best album this year,\u201d said Murchison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many fans were surprised when blues singer Bonnie Raitt was announced as the winner of the Song of the Year with her hit \u201cJust Like That\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lizzo\u2019s song \u201cAbout Damn Time\u201d which always brings listeners to their feet, gave an acceptance speech that also had the audience on their feet. The artists thanked everyone from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyonc\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to pop legend Prince, who she dedicated her Record of the Year award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music. This was a time when positive music wasn\u2019t mainstream at that point. I felt very misunderstood \u2026 but I stayed true to myself. Because I wanted to make the world a better place, so I had to be that change to make the world a better place,\u201d Lizzo tearfully explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lizzo went on to thank Queen Bey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYou changed my life. The way you made me feel, I was like, \u2018I want to make people feel this way with my music,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During all the fan fanfare, many did not notice that Mary J.
