According to CNN.com, the victim, a 20 year old man named Issac Adams Parker, stated in a police report that Brown told him “I ain’t with that gay s***, I feel like boxing.” From there, the report states that Parker told the Washington Police that Brown punched him in the face, followed by an attack from Hollosy, resulting in bruised and swollen face and a broken nose.

Since Brown was arrested, the Grammy Award winning artist was in violation of his probation, stemming from his 2009 felony domestic violence charge from his altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. In addition, the arrest was under suspicion that it was a felonious assault, which could earn him some jail time.

The incident is the most recent of numerous altercations Brown has had over the past several years which includes the parking lot brawl earlier this year with Frank Ocean, a hit and run incident, and the massive melee in a nightclub between Drake’s entourage, resulting in injures to patrons and himself. Some fans attribute his violent behavior to the people he surrounds himself with.

Darryl Williams, a senior English major from St. Louis, Mo. said, “I just feel like Chris Brown needs to watch the people that’s around him. I think it’s about the circle of people that he surrounds himself with that can help him make better decisions. I don’t think that the people around him are protecting him and do not have his best interest at heart. He keeps getting in trouble and I think if he had a better support system, he would be better off.”

The case against Brown however is starting to collapse due to conflicting stories of the night. Reports from TMZ reveal that sources tied to Brown state that Parker and a male friend attempted to get on Brown’s tour bus with the female fans, but were thwarted by him and the bodyguard, which led to the altercation. Also, some police reports of the incident suggest that the bodyguard, Hollosy, threw the first punch.

The reports resulted in Brown and Hollosy being released from jail and the charge being reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor along with a restraining order to stay 100 yards away from Parker. If convicted, he could face 180 days in jail along with a $1,000 fine. He returns to court on Nov. 25.

Many fans believe that in the midst of Brown’s violent behavior, some jail time would benefit him.

Ladessea Woodberry, a junior psychology major from Dallas, Texas said, “I believe that Chris Brown, he actually deserves some jail time because he’s being repetitive with everything he does. Maybe if he spent some time in jail, maybe he would get his act together. And I notice that celebrities, they’ll lower the jail time in situations where they’ll lower felonies to a misdemeanor when they deserve the felony, unlike if it was a normal person, they would get that charge and end up in jail.”

After the incident, new developments show that Brown has decided to check into rehab for his behavior in order to reevaluate his life and to regain focus on his career. Brown tweeted “In order to go where u have never gone u have to be willing to go where u never been!!!! #OHB! CBE!”

Cal Oatis, a senior English major from Columbus, Miss. said, “It seems like a PR stunt to me, but I really don’t think it will help because his anger problem is more like a personality trait. And I can imagine that the fame gets annoying. Not only that, but you got the build up of fame and just being famous in general. It’s cool when it’s on TV, but the lifestyle is different. Not only that, but you get an incident where this punk is trying to push up on you and then you have all this build up from what he’s going through and it creates an explosion.

Mark Braboy News Editor Once again, R&B/Pop singer Chris Brown’s violent behavior lands him into a world of trouble as him and his bodyguard was arrested for assaulting a man this past weekend.
