Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.<\/p>\n<p>With the loss, the Lady Tigers fall to 6-11 overall and 4-3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.<\/p>\n<p>JSU could not come back from the 12-point halftime deficit despite the efforts from junior Dominique Brothern who recorded 6 rebounds, 11 points, 9 assists and 6 steals. Brothern leads the conference in steals averaging 3.3 a game.<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Ricks led GSU with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Joanna Miller had 15 points, Dennisha Chambers scored 14 points and Jasmine Godboldt collected 13 points.\u00a0 Jessica Watson collected the teams only double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>At the half JSU trailed GSU 47-35. The Lady Tiger largest lead was six points at the 17:10 mark in the first half. The Lady Tigers outscored GSU 14-2 in fast break points, 19-11 in bench points, 25-18 off of turnovers and 48-36 in points in the paint. GSU out rebounded the Lady Tigers 47-37.<\/p>\n<p>GSU shot 50.9% from the field, while the Lady Tigers shot only 35.6%.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Tiger\u2019s head coach Surina Dixon said \u201cWe have to start back playing Lady Tiger basketball and get back to the things that started us off 3-0 in conference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Julysses Nobles scored a game high with 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead Jackson State to a 76-59 victory of Grambling State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference action Saturday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.<\/p>\n<p>With the win JSU improves to an overall 7-12 and 3-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference record.<\/p>\n<p>Nobles was 6-9 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line. Brandon West scored 14 points, Javeres Brent collected 12 points and Treshawn Bolden scored 10 points. With Nobles, the four JSU starters scored in double-digits. West also led both teams with 9 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>Chandler Thomas led GSU with 13 points and 8 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>JSU started the game with an 11-2 run and never slowed down. At the half, the Tigers led 38-23.<\/p>\n<p>JSU was 53.6% from the field, 35.7% from the 3FG and 73.3% from the free throw line. JSU outscored GSU 46-34 from in the paint and 21-13 off of turnovers. JSU dominated the boards by out rebounding GSU 30-27.
