Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.<\/p>\n<p>With the win, the Lady Tigers improve 9-11 overall and 7-3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.<\/p>\n<p>In the second half, Jackson State went on a 10-1 run at the 10:32 mark. With seven ties and three lead changes, the game was a constant battle for the in-state rivals. However, the Lady Tiger offense was too much for the Lady Braves as JSU outscored Alcorn 30-16 from the paint, 8-3 from second chance opportunities, 14-6 fast break points and an overwhelming 30-10 bench points.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Tigers lead as much as 12 points at the 00:48 mark left in the game.<\/p>\n<p>JSU continues to shoot the ball in high percentages shooting 40.4% from the field and 73.9% from the free throw line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLately in practice we\u2019ve been working on making higher percentage shots. All that practice is finally paying off,\u201d said Ross.<\/p>\n<p>Kameron Jones also scored in double-digit figures with 10 points. Dominique Brothern led the team with 5 assists and Ke\u2019ra St. John dominated the paint with 7 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>Tierro Frost led the Lady Braves with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Ashtin McNichols also collected 10 points and 9 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Lady Tiger victory, Brandon West collected a double- double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers to a 71-61 victory over Alcorn State. Julysses Nobles also led the Tigers with 16 points and 6 assists.<\/p>\n<p>With the win, the Tigers improve 8-14 overall and 4-6 SWAC play.<\/p>\n<p>JSU started off dominate with 15-3 scoring run, shooting 44.4% from the field to Alcorn\u2019s 31.6% in the first half. The Tigers led 36-21 at half time. The Braves did not bow down however, coming into the second half with a 14-4 run. Jarves Brent maintained the Tiger led by draining two three- point shots.<\/p>\n<p>The Braves still did not give up; playing aggressive defense that caused Jackson State to turn the ball over five times. Alcorn scored four points off back-to-back steals, cutting the lead 40-35.\u00a0 However, the Tiger offense was too much for Alcorn to handle, forcing them to foul JSU who shot 68.0% from the free throw line.
