{"id":4178,"date":"2014-09-18T16:55:03","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T16:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.jsums.edu\/jsuflash\/?p=4178"},"modified":"2014-09-18T16:55:03","modified_gmt":"2014-09-18T16:55:03","slug":"no-good-deed-goes-unpunished-at-the-box-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.jsums.edu\/theflash\/index.php\/2014\/09\/18\/no-good-deed-goes-unpunished-at-the-box-office\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cNo Good Deed\u201d goes unpunished at the box office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.jsums.edu\/theflash2025\/files\/2014\/09\/No-Good-Deed.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4189\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.jsums.edu\/theflash2025\/files\/2014\/09\/No-Good-Deed-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Ceaira Wilson<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>MC 301 Contributor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo Good Deed\u201d was not punished at the box office this past Friday, coming in at No. 1 and raking in over $24 million.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Sam Miller, whose previous works include, \u201cKrakatoa: Volcano of Destruction\u201d in 2006 and \u201cThe Bill\u201d in 1984.<\/p>\n<p>Well-known actors Idris Elba, known for his roles in \u201cTakers\u201d, \u201cMandela: Long Walk to Freedom\u201d, and \u201cObsessed\u201d, and Taraji P.\u00a0 Henson, known for her roles in \u201cHustle and Flow\u201d, \u201cBaby Boy\u201d, and \u201cThink Like a Man\u201d costar in this thriller.<\/p>\n<p>Elba portrays Colin Evans, an unstable, narcissistic convict who has escaped from prison and ends up at the doorstep of Henson\u2019s character Terri, a former lawyer and now stay at home mother who is having trouble in her marriage.<\/p>\n<p>What I like most about this movie is that it is unpredictable. You may think you know what is going to happen, but right when you think that, something you didn\u2019t expect happens.<\/p>\n<p>Like all good thrillers, \u201cNo Good Deed\u201d will have you jumping out of your skin and yelling at the screen as if the characters can hear you telling them to look out or run away. This film transforms the viewers into detectives who are trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle to figure out Elba\u2019s character next move.<\/p>\n<p>This movie was very entertaining and I would give it 3 out 5 stars.
