The Insatiable Modeling Squad (IMS) held its annual spring fashion show, \u201cThe Dream\u201d on April 14, 2011 in the Jacob l. Reddix Complex.\u00a0 Hosted by 97.7\u2019s Radio Personality Mr. European and DJ\u2019ed by Jackson State University\u2019s very own Terrell Lewis, not a seat in the room was empty.
\nThe fashion show included several scenes, some of which included \u201cDreamcatcher\u201d, an all white scene, \u201cNightmare\u201d, an all black scene and \u201cFantasy\u201d, a Lingerie scene.<\/p>\n

Amanda Williamson, a senior education major from Canton, Miss. said, \u201cI enjoyed the show, I saw a few pieces I\u2019d wear. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing how Insatiable will top this next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being a member of the squad isn\u2019t all about rocking high heels and ripping the runway, members are required to contribute ideas and much of their time in order to produce a quality show.\u00a0 IMS begins planning for each of their fall and spring shows at the beginning of each semester.<\/p>\n

IMS President Jeyana Phillips, a senior childcare and family education major from Compton, Calif. said, \u201cIt is very hard putting on a show, you need your squad 100%, for brainstorming and making those ideas become a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The squad has one main goal, and that is to promote fashion and style through confidence and individuality.
\n\u201cWe bring together some of the most versatile students on our campus to prove that fashion is an expression of who we are, not what color our skin is, what size we are or what we wear\u201d said IMS member Brittney Brown, a senior mass communications major from Columbia, Miss.<\/p>\n

IMS members feel the need to overcome the stereotype that they are just pretty faces that don\u2019t do anything for the community.\u00a0\u00a0 The organization contributes to various community service projects in the Jackson metropolitan area. The squad also mentors high school modeling squads at Jim Hill High School and at other high school model castings.<\/p>\n

For students with a passion for fashion interested in joining this organization, members say confidence; unique style and individuality are required.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
