Spring break is a time to relax, get wild, and make amazing memories with friends.\u00a0 However, achieving the ultimate Spring Break experience can be hard on a college student\u2019s budget.<\/p>\n

There are many options available for students who have limited funds. Planning ahead is always the best way to save money for any vacation.<\/p>\n

Many JSU students plan to take advantage of the time off for some much needed stress relief.<\/p>\n

Kylie Christian said, \u201cFor spring break I\u2019m going to Panama City Beach in Florida with a bunch of my friends. I went to Panama City with my teammates the past two years and I\u2019ve had the greatest times there! So many good memories happened in Panama. There was constant music playing and always somewhere to go to chill. Living on a beach for a whole week with my best friends, what could be better?\u201d said the junior biology major form Redondo Beach, Calif.<\/p>\n

Some students plan to take advantage of the break to visit home and see family and friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor spring break, I\u2019m going on a little girls trip to the beach back at home,\u201d said Malynda Tillman, a freshman biology major from Upland, Calif. \u201cWe are doing bonfires, smores and late night swimming on the beach. I haven\u2019t seen my friends from high school since I left for Jackson, so it will be so good to catch up and make fun memories with them. I\u2019ll be sure to take a lot of pictures while in Cali.\u201d<\/p>\n

Faith Toennies also plans to visit friends and family during Spring Break.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpending Spring Break with the people who mean most to me is my favorite part. For the break I\u2019m going to Canada to see my family and all of my friends back at home. I\u2019m not sure if we are going anywhere super exciting but I\u2019m just happy to be anywhere with them,\u201d said Toennies, a freshman biology major from Canada.<\/p>\n

According to the Student Universe website, these tips can help you save the stacks for doing fun things while on vacation:<\/p>\n

1. Book with the hotel directly<\/strong> \u2013 Many times you are tempted to use sites that say they have the best deals, but cutting out the middle man can help you save money better used for turning up.<\/p>\n

2. Budget Accordingly<\/strong> \u2013 You know how much money you can afford to spend, so don\u2019t go overboard with extravagant shopping, hotels, pricey restaurants, and etc.<\/p>\n

3. Road Trip<\/strong> \u2013 Even though the price of gas is little steep, it\u2019s still cheaper than flying.\u00a0 Carpooling with a few friends can save a lot of coins.<\/p>\n

4. Pack Smart<\/strong> \u2013 Make sure you have everything you need to avoid having to visit the local Wal-Mart for basic items that you should already have.<\/p>\n

5. Discounts<\/strong> \u2013 Look for those coupon filled booklets located in the lobby of the hotel. Many have discounts for food, partying and much more. Also, buying passes for clubs and events that cover multiple days offer great deals.<\/p>\n

Spring break is the opportunity for students to get away from the stresses of exams, homework, projects, professors, etc. So why waste the greatest break of your college life doing nothing?<\/p>\n

Any destination you choose is sure to provide an opportunity to make memories that last a lifetime, but don\u2019t let debt become one of those memories. Your wallet will thank you later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
