Rap artist Gucci Mane has been in several tabloids within the past year. Unfortunately these tabloids have not been to promote his new music.<\/p>\n

Gucci was first seen in the tabloids for his infamous face tattoo of an ice cream cone on his cheek. Later in the year, he was sent to jail for allegedly pushing a woman out of his moving Hummer. While in jail, Gucci Mane came out with Writing on the Wall 2, and he also had a duet mixtape with underground rapper Future.<\/p>\n

On Super Bowl Sunday, rapper Gucci released his highly anticipated mixtape entitled \u201cTrap Back\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tim Rush, a Jackson State University sophomore education major said, \u201cIt was the first mixtape in a while that was actually worth downloading.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gucci is back with yet another moment of clarity, trying to come back from his recent mixtapes. \u201cTrap Back\u201d is an hour filled with slow head bobbing music. From the moment you press play, not a single song will be skipped.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve listened to the so-called music that Gucci put out last year, you will highly appreciate this mixtape. Gucci went back to his old virtues, rapping like he did in his prime. Which was Radric Davis applying his slippery delivery over elastically bouncy beats while members of Bricksquad are featured on tracks to pay tribute.<\/p>\n

Carmisha Harlin, a JSU sophomore biology major, from Kansas City, Mo., said, \u201cThe new Gucci mixtape was real cool. It is one of those mixtapes you can play and not have to worry about skipping songs. It was nice. I like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The way his voice engages with his beats is phenomenal and is another thing Gucci fell off on. Snapping in and out of different tones and staying in pocket, he has returned to his own favorite topics with a sense of excitement: \u201cMy face got a lot of tats, my grill got a lot of gold, my mouth talk a lot of s**t.\u201d<\/p>\n

It has been thought that one of the reasons why Gucci fell off was because several of his featured artists were out rapping him on tracks. Gucci makes sure this doesn\u2019t happen on \u201cTrap Back\u201d. Even rapper Jadakiss comes up short.<\/p>\n

Justin Adams, a JSU junior biology major, from Atlanta,Ga., said, \u201cGucci is back. \u201cTrap Back\u201d is the best mixtape he\u2019s had out in a while.\u201d
\nHe teamed up with several big name producers including Mike Will, Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, Lex Luger, and more. The mixtape consists of 19 different tracks, and includes features from the likes of 2Chainz, Waka Flocka, Future, Yo Gotti, and several others.<\/p>\n

I loved the mixtape. I haven\u2019t stopped listening to it since I first downloaded it. I don\u2019t have a favorite song yet, primarily because I love the whole mixtape. There is no guarantee that Gucci will remain at the top of his zone for long, but I sure will enjoy him for as long as he does.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
