Members of student clubs, Greek-letter organizations, and the Student Government Association at Jackson State University are raising money to benefit the local Ronald McDonald House. All funds collected will be donated during this year’s Homecoming Greek Show.
The Ronald McDonald House, located on State Street near the University Medical Center, serves as a home away from home for families who have critically ill children receiving treatment at metro-area hospitals. The house has a total of 16 bedrooms, four kitchens, two laundry rooms, a playroom, library and numerous family areas.
The Center for Student Engagement and Inclusion is spearheading the effort and will collect funds through Oct. 18. Students will also volunteer at the facility as needed.
“The students chose to donate to the Ronald McDonald House because they care and really want to assist in the effort to provide comfort, care and compassion to families who have sick children in the hospital,” said Dr. Gary B. Crosby, CSEI director.
Funds will be collected at designated campus events and location. All clubs and organizations have agreed to donate all or a percentage of any money raised during Homecoming Street Jam. Everyone is encouraged to donate generously to this cause. Contact the CSEI for additional information on how to donate.
