Jackson State junior defensive end Javancy Jones was nominated for the 20th annual C Spire Wireless Conerly Trophy at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in December.
Jones finished the 2015 season as the national leader in tackles for loss with 25.5. He also led the Tigers in tackles with 107 and posted 7.5 sacks.
The Noxubee County native was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in the 2015 season (Nov. 10 and Nov. 30). Jones was also named to the College Football Performance Awards watch list.
