Her responsibilities include the Department of Public Safety, Title III, Student Affairs and senior operations officer for the university. A JSU alum, Mays-Jackson holds a bachelor of arts in music, a master of arts in music education; and a specialist degree in education administration from the HBCU. She earned her doctorate in education administration from Mississippi State University. Cohen brings more than 25 years of higher education experience to the HBCU. Cohen was formerly the associate vice president of major and planned gifts at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Cohen holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Saint Augustine’s College in North Carolina and a master’s in community counseling psychology

A native of Itta Bena, Greenleaf spent four years as the director of communications and marketing at her alma mater Mississippi Valley State. Previously, she served as the director of public relations for the Leflore County School District. Greenleaf has a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and received her master’s in public relations from Kent State University. Powell, a native of Hallsboro, North Carolina, has served in higher education for over 25 years and is currently associate vice president for Student Affairs at Jackson State University. Formerly, she was dean of students at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, where she secured more than $5 million in grants. Powell received her doctorate of education from Wilmington University in Delaware; her master’s in Nonprofit Administration from West Chester University in Pennsylvania; and her bachelor of science in business administration from Fayetteville State University.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
