Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has temporarily eliminated the option of physical class meetings, JSU’s Ed2Go program is more vital to students than in previous years.
“During this pandemic, this service is more so essential to professionals who will still need to meet their yearly requirements for professional development hours,” says Dr. Carlos Wilson, interim director for the School of Lifelong Learning.
Ed2Go is the SLL’s way of offering online professional development and personal enrichment to traditional and non-traditional students. Most courses are offered in a six- week format and awarded up to 24 contact hours (2.4 CEUs for those requesting Continuing Education Units).
“Our service affords students the opportunity to take discipline specific courses for contact hours. All of our courses are entirely online.”
After completion, each student receives a certificate showing the number of contact hours finished. This can also be provided to employers for documentation. The program is housed in the Professional Development Center under the direction of Ms. Carolyn Mack.
Courses offered include:
- Business
- College Readiness
- Computer Applications
- Education and Teaching
- Grant Writing, Writing and Publishing
- Healthcare and Medical
- Language and Arts
- Law and Legal
- Technology
Students needing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) such as teachers and other education professionals, for license renewal or yearly training, may request these units for an additional fee.
