Development Scholarships |
In 2014 Jackson State implemented a new process for applying for foundation scholarships. One application houses all scholarship information. The criteria for each scholarship are identified within the database along with each student’s scholastic information. The system automatically matches the applicant’s information to any scholarship for which they were eligible. Scholarships are awarded to students based on academic merit and/or financial need; or other specified criteria. Some scholarships may require additional information and students will have the opportunity to provide that information after completing the general application. These additional opportunities will be listed under their profile. All undergraduate students who were registered and in good standing, and all incoming freshmen are eligible. To apply for scholarships, you must log in to this website using your J# and NetID. Students who do not know their NetID must log in to P.A.W.S. and select the option to Activate/Reset NET ID Password (password needs to be at least eight characters with one capital letter and one number). Scholarships are reviewed by the university and/or departmental scholarship committee. The scholarship coordinator offers the award via email to the student’s JSU email. The student must officially accept the award and upload a thank-you-letter in addition to any other post-acceptance requirements. Once the post-acceptance process is complete, the funds will be applied to the student’s account. If it is a book award, the students name and the award amount will be submitted to the JSU bookstore. |
